How a Cleaning Company Invented Its Own Product

HATOCH® is not a lab development. It is the answer to a real problem – born on a construction site in Hanover.

HKD-Services GmbH has been professionally cleaning buildings, facades, and windows in the Hanover region for years. Daily, our teams faced the same situation: primer on window panes, plastic frames, and tiles – and no product on the market that could reliably remove it without damaging surfaces.

Blades risked scratches. Solvents attacked seals. And most products only worked on freshly applied primer – not on dried-on primer.

Where the name HATOCH® comes from

The name itself contains the original idea: HAndtuchpapier (paper towels) + TOilettenpapier (toilet paper) + CHemie (chemicals). That's how the brand was originally conceived – as a sustainable consumables shop for building cleaning companies, offering paper towels, toilet paper, and cleaning chemicals.

The real impulse came from our HKD customers themselves: they repeatedly asked about the cleaning product our teams used on-site – and where they could buy it. And they no longer wanted to order consumables by phone or in writing, but simply online, electronically, whenever they needed them. This demand led to the idea of our own webshop.

Then the primer incident on the construction site intervened. A broad range became a single, persistent question: how do you really get it off without scratching surfaces or attacking seals? The answer, which we developed with our chemists, was so good that we decided to focus entirely on it.

Today, HATOCH® is no longer a range of consumables, but a specialist for exactly one problem – solved better than any all-purpose cleaner on the market.

The Solution: Developed by Cleaning Professionals

Together with chemists, HKD-Services GmbH developed its own formulas – tailored to the polymer structure of acrylic, hybrid, and silicate/mineral primers. The result was registered as a utility model with the German Patent and Trademark Office (DE 20 2021 105 495) and recognized as an innovation by the BSFZ.

Who HATOCH® is made for

Depending on the type of primer, HATOCH® has the right solution: The 50ml precision stick works reliably on acrylic and hybrid primers. For silicate or mineral primers – or if it's unclear which type is present – the SPECIAL 500ml is the right choice, covering all three common primer types. This makes HATOCH® the standard solution in:

  • Post-construction cleaning – removing primer splashes from windows and facades after interior finishing
  • Painting trade – clean finish without blades, gentle on materials
  • Renovation – large-scale applications for renovations and old building refurbishment

Available in two sizes:

  • 50ml Precision Stick – pinpoint accuracy for splashes on windows, frames, and tiles (acrylic/hybrid primer)
  • 500ml SPECIAL Concentrate – for large-scale applications and all primer types, incl. silicate/mineral

All HATOCH® products are not classified as hazardous substances (no H-statements according to CLP regulation) – NSF certified and LFGB harmless, making them suitable as cleaning agents even in food processing companies. For normal use, you do not need protective equipment; for continuous commercial use, we recommend safety glasses and gloves.
